O gancho poderia chegar a 12 jogos.
A princípio, ele ficaria fora contra Flamengo, Goiás e Fluminense, mas agora aguarda a reavaliação de sua pena. Enquanto isso, está apto a jogar.

Ross Turner, the former ICC global development manager, will be the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s consultant to formulate its long-term strategic plan from 2015. He is expected to arrive in the country next month to complete formalities for a role that will span the next four years.Turner has previously worked for the BCB, the ICC, Cricket Australia and Cricket New South Wales on several occasions. He visited Bangladesh in 2000 as the ICC global development officer and for working with umpires. His last role in Bangladesh was as the head coach of the National Cricket Academy in Mirpur.This time he will prepare strategies that will include finding out ways to make the Bangladesh team improve their Test rankings as well as overall game development in the country from the grassroots level.”Ross Turner will assist the BCB in putting together the strategic plan from 2015 to 2018,” BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury said. “He will come to Dhaka in January. He has worked with us a number of times in the past and knows our culture.”Cricket has changed to a great degree over time and considering the present status, we need to focus on developing a good strategy. We must find a way to get the best output that can help us meet requirements in key areas.”Turner will be expected to spend some time in Bangladesh though it won’t be a residential position. He had left his last job here on health grounds in 2011.The BCB CEO also informed that Stuart Karppinen has been given the added responsibility of NCA operations manager along with his primary duty as a trainer.The board is still looking to fill the NCA head coach position after Richard McInnes left earlier this year. Sources have said that talks are on with a few senior coaches.

In the 37th over of India’s innings, Steven Finn landed too close to the stumps, and his knee knocked the bail off. It being called no-ball was expected, but normally when Finn does that it sends panic waves around. The Finn Ball was a major part of his losing form when trying to sort the issue out. So low was he on confidence, he had infamously become “un-selectable” on England’s last tour to Australia. So, it was such a relief this time that, for a change, Finn could talk about it with a bit of humour. He had, after all, taken five wickets by then, to skittle India out at the same ground where he left the Ashes tour midway. It was in fact almost a year to the day that Finn was at his lowest when he couldn’t land the ball on the pitch in the Gabba nets.”Not very often,” Finn said, when asked how often he bowls such no-balls these days. “It’s the first time it has happened in around nine months. I think I did it once in the English season and before that not for a while either. It’s once in a blue moon. Unfortunately it happened today. I was charging in too hard, thinking of wickets [more] than processes. It happens every now and again but it didn’t cost us. Not bothered about it, slight sore knee but nothing too bad.”Finn doesn’t want to talk about the past and his struggles as much as he wants to look ahead to the future, but it is all the more significant that his first five-for has come in the same city where he was at his lowest. “I always thought in the back of my mind that it [the comeback] was possible,” Finn said. “But you never know, do you? But to come here and be in the same hotels and get over those hurdles has been good fun and I am enjoying it. I am enjoying my time in Australia. To take wickets today is very good and to win a game is very good as well, so I am very happy where I am at.”It was largely expected that James Anderson would make his comeback in this ODI at the expense of Finn. Then Chris Jordan fell ill. You can’t be sure if that made England’s selection easier, or if Finn almost didn’t play this ODI, but you can be sure that Finn is too good a bowler to not be a major force. When he gets it right, Finn extracts more bounce from pitches than most of the bowlers. And when you give him a rock-hard pitch like the one at the Gabba for this game, he can be a tough proposition to face.”The wicket bounced a lot, especially from this [Vulture Street] end,” Finn said. “You could bowl a fullish length, and it was coming through at waist height, which is uncomfortable for anyone. That was partly the way we bowled and partly the wicket. But we used that to our advantage, and as a bowling unit we stuck to our guns very well, and made the Indian batsmen have to come to us, which is what we want to be doing.”Finn was the last of the quicks introduced. By that time, Ajinkya Rahane and Ambati Rayudu had just about started to look comfortable. They had had a bit of pressure relieved when they targeted Stuart Broad, who wasn’t at his best. The partnership had reached 44 by the time Finn was asked to bowl. During the last home summer, England had let India off the hook in the Cardiff ODI. Now they needed someone to strike before India ran away again. Finn did so, taking out Rahane, Virat Kohli and Ambati Rayudu in the space of 16 balls. All three struggled to cope with his bounce.And when India had another partnership going, taking them to 5 for 137 from 5 for 67, it was Finn that England turned to again. And again Finn provided them the timely wickets, MS Dhoni’s with a bouncer and Akshar Patel’s with a quick straight ball angling into the stumps from round the wicket.”It’s just nice to help England win a game of cricket,” Finn said, when told it was nice to see him smiling again. “A lot has happened in last 12 months, and it’s probably pretty much to the day where I went home from that tour of Australia. That corner has been turned. I felt like I turned it a while ago. All that stuff is in the past now, and I am just really looking forward. To take five wickets today was very pleasing for me after the work I have put in. I don’t want to look back now, I just want to look forward.”Finn said he was close to his best. “I think I am getting there,” he said. “There might be another couple of miles an hour to come in the tank, and that will come with confidence and getting into my stride as the tour goes on. It’s a good starting block, and I am very happy with where I am at the moment.”England’s ODI side has been much maligned over the last couple of years, and with a reason. However, if Finn can stay at his best, along with Anderson, Broad, Chris Woakes and Moeen Ali, they can be close to the best attack in the World Cup that will be played in these conditions next month. Finn doesn’t want to get that far ahead of himself, but it is indeed good to see him smiling again.

It took six excellent victories to get the Adelaide Strikers to the semi-finals of the Big Bash League, but it took just one bad performance for their season to be ended. In front of a watershed and record-breaking Adelaide Oval crowd of 52,633, the Strikers crashed to an 87-run defeat, heavier than any of those they have inflicted this season, at the hands of the Sydney Sixers.The Sixers, who won the toss and chose to bat, scored a challenging 181, which the Strikers never once threatened as they lost wickets on regular occasions, crumbling to 94 all out. The Sydney side progress to next Wednesday’s final and await the winner of Perth Scorchers-Melbourne Stars tomorrow.The Sixers opted to change their opening partnership of Nic Maddinson and Michael Lumb in an attempt to upset the Strikers’ planning. Lumb kickstarted the innings with some pugnacious and punchy stroke-play, hitting six fours and a six before he was run out in the fifth over for a 19-ball 32. At the other end Riki Wessels played second fiddle to Lumb before he was tied down, as the Strikers deployed their spinners, before falling for a run-a-ball 24.The match was set up however, by Maddinson, who has this season walked the tight rope of batting bravado, but today batted with caution and pragmatism as the situation demanded. In his first 30 balls he hit just a six and a four in his 31 before exploding into action. A six over the midwicket boundary was the touch paper for his following 18 balls which were clubbed, slogged, heaved, carved and slashed to the boundary nine times as he raced past 50, through the 60s and beyond. More than a couple of the boundaries flew of thick edges but the Strikers, so adept this season at taking wickets on regular occasions to puncture momentum couldn’t do so. It seemed fortune favoured the brave.Maddinson was assisted in his assault by Moises Henriques after Jordan Silk managed just 3 from five before he was trapped lbw by Ben Laughlin. Henriques too accelerated once Maddinson’s onslaught was ended by Kane Richardson for 85.Lumb, Wessels and Henriques played little more than assisting roles to Maddinson, whose innings single-handedly propelled the Sixers to 181, a total 19 more than the average first innings score at the Adelaide Oval.The Strikers’ highest score this season was 6 for 182 in an earlier encounter with the Sixers, but batting second they hadn’t been asked to chase more than 153, and they did seem overawed by the target, in front of more than 50,000 fans – a record crowd for a BBL match.Craig Simmons fell in the second over when an expansive drive produced nothing more than a thin edge through to wicketkeeper Ryan Carters. Travis Head was the next to go, falling for 8 to Doug Bollinger. Tim Ludeman also departed before the end of the Powerplay which they exited at 3 for 38.The Strikers have, with Head and Alex Ross down the order, rebuilt from such starts this season, but today, with Ross dropped down to make room for Hodge, who has been short of time in the middle, and Ryan ten Doeschate, who hasn’t made more than 26 for the Strikers, they caved into the pressure of a spiralling run rate and no in-form batsmen to call upon.Bollinger took three wickets, while Sean Abbott, Steve O’Keefe and Nathan Lyon picked up two apiece as the Strikers run chase imploded. The Sixers did bowl well also, which only added to the pressure for the Strikers.For the second season running, the team to finish top of the ladder has been eliminated in the semi-finals. The result will no doubt lend credence to the argument that the BBL should adopt a different knockout structure, rewarding the top-placed team more than merely a home semi-final and perhaps, like the Indian Premier League, two opportunities at final qualification.An hour after the match was completed as litter blew around the empty stadium, Ludeman, one of the stars of the season for the Strikers could be seen signing autographs for a group of kids. The Strikers may have lost today, but this season they have at least won the hearts and minds of their city. They built a momentum to their season and connected with their public in a way sporting teams should. It’s hard to not look at the massive crowd today for a match and see it as something of a seminal day for domestic cricket not only in Australia, but around the world.
