Anjum Chopra made 98 in the first innings then England collapsed to 99 all out as Jhulan Goswami took 5 for 33, before the home side hit back through a hundred by Charlotte Edwards to leave a target of 98. India slipped to 74 for 5 in the chase before securing the victory.The Test is part of an itinerary that will also include three one-day internationals before England face South Africa in three Twenty20s. The third ODI will be played at Lord’s on August 25 while the final T20 will be part of a double-header alongside the men’s T20 between England and India at Edgbaston on September 7.Clare Conner, the head of women’s cricket for the ECB, said: “The recent Women’s Ashes Test in Perth was a wonderful demonstration of women’s cricket at its best, and I expect a similarly tight contest when England take on India at Wormsley in August.”Last summer saw record numbers of spectators through the gates to watch England regain the Women’s Ashes, and this year’s international schedule presents a similarly exciting proposition for cricket fans up and down the country to see some of the best women’s cricketers in the world in action.”Cricket South Africa were delighted to have been invited for three T20s which will all be televised live.”This is excellent news not just for our national women’s team but for all women’s cricket in South Africa,” Haroon Lorgat, the CSA chief executive, said: “The privilege of our team competing in England in such a high profile series against one of the undoubted leaders in the women’s game is setting new standards for our women’s cricket.”It is a well-deserved honour and shows the enormous strides we have been making and I am sure this news will inspire and motivate all our players on the eve of the World Twenty20 in Bangladesh. وقال أبو قمر في تصريحات عبر برنامج “الريمونتادا” على قناة “المحور”: “كان عندنا هدف بشأن زيادة سعة استاد بورسعيد بالتعاون من الشركة المنفذة والوزير والمحافظ، واستطعنا أن نصل لسعة 20 ألف متفرج، وأمامنا أشهر قليلة سيكون عندنا استاد جاهز من الجيل الجديد وبمواصفات عالمية، وحجم مساحة أرضية الملعب أكبر من استاد القاهرة”.

وأضاف: “كامل أبو علي رئيس النادي المصري، يتواصل مع المسؤولين من أجل إنشاء مشروع استثماري ليجعل النادي يصرف على نفسه ويُحقق طفرة اقتصادية، ونُحاول أن يكون ملعبنا في الموسم القادم هو ملعب استاد هيئة قناة السويس”.

وعن التعاقد مع باهر المحمدي لاعب الإسماعيلي: “النادي المصري لم يستغل الشرط الجزائي في عقد اللاعب، وتواصلنا وأنهينا كل شيء مع إدارة الدراويش، ورغبة اللاعب حسمت الأمر”.

واختتم: “أحمد عيد كان مُتاحاً للجميع، ولم يكن مُسجلا في الزمالك، وكان يمتلك عروضاً من أندية أخرى مثل بيراميدز والبنك الأهلي، ولكنه اختار الانضمام لفريق المصري، ونحن نحترم الإدارات والتعاقدات وعلى مسافة واحدة من جميع الأندية”.

وكان أحمد عيد قد رحل عن صفوف إنبي عائدًا إلى الزمالك بعد قطع فترة اعارته عقب نهاية الموسم الماضي.

وأتم المصري بعد التنسيق مع الجهاز الفني للفريق الأول بقيادة علي ماهر، إجراءات التعاقد مع أحمد عيد، لاعب منتخب مصر الأولمبي بعقد يمتد لثلاثة مواسم اعتبارًا من الموسم الحالي وحتى نهاية موسم 2026/2025.

Peter Siddle has been set the task of relocating the yard of speed he has lost over the course of a taxing 18 months, after he was dropped from Australia’s side for the decisive third Test against South Africa at Newlands.An ever-present member of the Australian pace attack since his recall to the team in Sri Lanka in 2011, Siddle had played 31 Tests out of 34 since that time. He missed two matches in the West Indies through injury in 2012 and a third against South Africa in Perth later that year, after he was left fatigued and carrying a hamstring niggle due to his exertions in the second match of that series in Adelaide.Otherwise Siddle has been a highly reliable component of the bowling attack, repeatedly breaking partnerships and complementing the other fast men in the manner of Merv Hughes. However the treadmill of back-to-back Ashes series plus the tour of South Africa had begun to wear on Siddle’s pace.Australia’s coach Darren Lehmann said he had preferred James Pattinson as a third quick in Cape Town for precisely that reason. The decision leaves Siddle with some work ahead to regain his place for Australia’s next Test assignment against Pakistan in Dubai.”He’s fully fit, we just wanted the extra pace and James gives us that,” Lehmann said. “They’re producing wickets which don’t have much grass on them and take reverse, so we want the extra pace here and he’s a fresh bowler, which is great. After seeing a specialist in Leeds it was confirmed Bairstow has fractured the ring finger on his left hand.Should Bairstow not return until early May, he could have only three County Championship matches in which to impress the England management, and a new head coach who is expected to be appointed in two weeks’ time.Bairstow, 24, failed to convince on his return to Test cricket with a highest score of 21 in four innings in Melbourne and Sydney.
