Na próxima quarta-feira, o São Paulo decide sua permanência na Copa Libertadores. Para eliminar o Talleres e se manter na principal competição da América do Sul, o Tricolor precisa vencer por três ou mais gols de diferença para avançar sem a necessidade de pênaltis. Os números, no entanto, jogam contra a equipe do técnico André Jardine.

Nas últimas cinco partidas que disputou (Santos, Guarani, São Bento, Talleres e Ponte Preta), o São Paulo fez apenas um gol e levou seis. Números muito baixos para quem, na pior das possiblidades, precisa fazer dois e não sofrer nenhum para não mergulhar em uma crise logo no segundo mês da temporada.

A situação do Tricolor se torna ainda mais preocupante quando analisados os números recentes da equipe. De acordo com o levantamento feito pela Footstats, o Tricolor finalizou ao gol adversário 11 vezes, em média, nessas partidas. O problema, no entanto, é que o time chutou apenas três vezes em direção ao gol adversário nos últimos cinco jogos.

Quando olhadas isoladamente, as estatísticas são mais assustadores. Contra a Ponte Preta e contra o Santos, o São Paulo não conseguiu acertar nem um chute sequer na direção do gol adversário. Contra o Talleres, foram quatro chutes, contra o Guarani, foram cinco, e o melhor desempenho tricolor aconteceu contra o São Bento, quando os comandados de André Jardine acertaram o alvo em seis oportunidades. Nesta última, no entanto, eram os reservas que estavam em campo.

O tempo para corrigir os erros é curto. O técnico André Jardine terá apenas dois dias para calibrar a pontaria de seu elenco e, principalmente, encontrar uma maneira de furar o possível bloqueio defensivo que deve ser montado pelo Talleres no Morumbi. O Fluminense enfrenta o Resende nesta sexta-feira, às 16h, em Moça Bonita, e reencontrará um velho conhecido. O ex-volante Edson Souza, que hoje é o técnico do time do Sul Fluminense, e atuou pelo tricolor das Laranjeiras na década de 80. Ele participou de conquistas importantes do clube, como o campeonato brasileiro de 1984 e o tricampeonato carioca (1983, 1984 e 1985)

O ex-tricolor lembra com carinho da geração vitoriosa, formada por nomes como Assis, Washington, Romerito, Delei, Tato, Leomir, Zezé Gomes, Ricardo Gomes, entre outros, logo que ascendeu ao time profissional do Fluminense.

– Cheguei no Fluminense em 1983, após jogar o Pan Americano pela Seleção Brasileira, e disputei a Copa São Paulo de Futebol Junior. Logo me integrei ao profissional e tive contato com aquela geração maravilhosa, com quem aprendi muito e conquistei títulos. Foi um momento muito importante da minha carreira, pelo qual tenho um carinho enorme – lembrou o Edson Souza.

Pelo Resende, foi campeão da Taça Rio de 2014 e, na atual temporada, o clube passou em primeiro lugar na seletiva, empatou com o Flamengo e venceu o Botafogo, sendo o único dos “pequenos” a chegar na semifinal da Taça Guanabara. Edson Souza espera repetir o feito contra os grandes diante do Fluminense e, quem sabe, beliscar uma vaga na semi da Taça Rio.

– Também começamos a Taça Guanabara com derrota e nos recuperamos diante de um grande clube. Tenho um carinho muito grande pelo Fluminense, por tudo que passei lá dentro, mas assim que a bola rola é cada um defendendo suas cores e nós nos preparamos bem para buscar uma vitória em Moça Bonita. بينما حقق منتخب سلاح سيف المبارزة الفوز على المغرب بنتيجة 45-23 في النهائي لتقتنص مصر الذهبية والمغرب الميدالية الفضية وحصلت جنوب إفريقيا على البرونزية.

وفاز منتخب سلاح الشيش سيدات على الجزائر في النهائي بنتيجة 45-14 لتحصل مصر على الذهبية والجزائر على الفضية بينما حصلت تونس على البرونزية.

Fawad Ahmed moved one step closer to an Ashes call-up on Thursday when a bill was introduced to federal parliament that could alter Australia’s citizenship laws. Under the current system, Ahmed is unable to obtain an Australian passport until August, shortly before the final Ashes Test, but if passed, the bill introduced by immigration and citizenship minister, Brendan O’Connor, would allow a fast-tracking of that passport.O’Connor did not refer to Ahmed by name in parliament on Thursday but he mentioned cricket as a sport that would be covered by the Australian Citizenship Amendment (special residence requirements) bill 2013. The changes would allow the minister to fast-track the citizenship claims of people whose work benefits Australia but who do not meet the existing residency requirements, and sportspeople would fall into that category.”The new instrument will include international cricket competitions as a specified activity and adds Cricket Australia to the list of organisations that may support an application,” O’Connor said. “The proposed amendments will give the minister the discretion to provide a pathway to citizenship for a very small number of people in very exceptional circumstances where their becoming a citizen would be of benefit to Australia. Australia should be proud to call these people their own.”However, the move is far from a guarantee of Ahmed’s Ashes eligibility, because there are only 13 sitting days of parliament remaining in the current session and a significant backlog of legislation waiting to be passed. The bill is expected to be debated next week. But it does give Cricket Australia hope that Ahmed could play a part in the early stages of their Ashes campaign after they left one place vacant when naming the 16-man squad last month.”Those of us who have seen him bowl have been very impressed with him,” national selector John Inverarity said when naming the squad. “He’s a very good legspinner and yes he does remain in contention. We’ve selected 16 players and we state now that should the need arise we will add to the squad. We don’t know when he’s going to become eligible, but there’s always that possibility.”Ahmed, 31, played ten first-class matches in Pakistan before moving to Australia in 2010 as an asylum seeker.
