Journalist Christian Falk has confirmed that Liverpool are interested in signing highly-rated Aberdeen right-back, Calvin Ramsay.

The Reds have recently been linked with a move for the 18-year-old in a report from The Press and Journal.

The latest: Falk doubles down

Taking to Twitter, the head of football at reputable German outlet Bild confirmed that the Anfield club were indeed keen on the Scottish youth international.

He stated: “True. Jürgen Klopp is interested in Calvin Ramsey as a Backup for Trent Alexander-Arnold.”

The signing of the three-cap Scotland Under 21 starlet would be the second raid north of the border from the Reds following the capture of talented Celtic youngster Ben Doak.

The verdict: Get it done

This is a no-brainer for Liverpool, especially as current Trent Alexander-Arnold understudy, Neco Williams, edges towards a permanent move to newly-promoted Fulham.

Whilst usurping the 23-year-old phenomenon seems an impossible task, Jurgen Klopp already boasts impressive cover at left-back in the shape of Kostas Tsimikas and adding a similar option to rest and rotate Alexander-Arnold is an important next step this summer.

So far this season Ramsay – who boasts a range of impressive attacking attributes including crossing, key passes and set-pieces – has scored once and provided nine assists across 31 appearances across all competitions.

Previously, Aberdeen have reportedly demanded £3.75million from Serie A outfit Bologna for the teenager once described as ‘brilliant’ by Stephen Glass, a fee that should provide no issues for Liverpool.

Tottenham Hotspur manager and big name Antonio Conte is now eyeing an unceremonious exit at the end of the season, according to reports.

The lowdown: Conte’s tenure so far

Appointed in November 2021 following the dismissal of Nuno Espirito Santo, Spurs fans had cause for optimism when the 52-year-old taskmaster arrived in north London.

Conte arrived with Tottenham in ninth place and some five points adrift of the Premier League top-four pacesetters. Since then the Lilywhites’ have enjoyed an upturn in fortunes and the January arrivals of Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur have provided a much-needed boost to the ranks.

However, currently sitting fifth and with UEFA Champions League qualification still in the balance, the ex-Italian national team boss could already be debating his options.

The latest: A worrying claim…

As per Grenier on Twitter, relaying a report from Le Parisien, Conte is believed to harbour a desire to take over the hot seat at Paris Saint Germain should Mauricio Pochettino be relieved of his duties in the French capital.

Former Spurs boss Pochettino has come under fire in recent weeks after PSG were eliminated from the Champions League at the hands of Real Madrid and it appears that potential replacements could already be lining up.

Le Parisien go as far to state that Conte has set his sights on a move to Paris, speaking about it to their club chiefs and becoming confident he can take over from Pochettino.

As shared by Grenier, the outlet claim: “Antonio Conte dreams of coaching PSG next season. He spoke about it to employees, showing himself confident about the feasibility of a transfer. He has let emissaries from Qatar know he is interested, but he is not the first choice. (The Parisian).”

The verdict: Big blow

Given Conte’s track record of only spending small periods of time in any one job and an initial 18-month deal, it was only ever likely to be a short term love affair at N17 but having all but won the managerial lottery with the appointment of the decorated Italian, Tottenham will no doubt be reluctant to cut ties with Conte so prematurely.

Albeit Spurs haven’t pulled up any trees just yet with the new man at the helm, there has been incremental improvement in recent months and with a full summer transfer window under his belt, it appears to be an exciting proposition moving forwards.

Whilst the club would be steadfast against the idea, should the PSG interest from all parties materialise then it may not be out of the realms of possibility that the eternally linked Pochettino finally makes an eagerly anticipated return to north London.

While he has an impressive average of 45.00 that has been inflated by finishing not out eight times 18 innings in ODIs, and in matches where he has been dismissed his average dips to 27.60. His career strike-rate of 75.00 doesn’t suggest that he’s set the world alight, but in the ten ODIs he has played in in which Pakistan have won he averages 110.00, and so it appears he relishes the role of stabiliser and finisher in the middle order.

O Figueirense renovou o contrato do atacante André Luis até 2020. A decisão do clube tem como base o projeto de estender o vínculo de jogadores que podem dar retorno no gramado e nas finanças. A diretoria do Alvinegro está analisando o elenco e traçando perfis que possam trazer rentabilidade.

André Luis não deve ser a única renovação. O diretor do Figueirense, Felipe Faro, destacou que a política do clube para prorrogar o vínculo dos atletas está ligada a um planejamento para os próximos dois anos.

– Nossa prioridade era renovar com o André, foi uma negociação tranquila. Agora é uma coisa meio pontual, jogador a jogador. Nesse segundo momento, estamos observando situações contratuais e vamos conversando. É um trabalho que estamos tendo agora pensando nos próximos anos. Até o fim do ano, temos todo o elenco, que era a primeira meta. E antes do meio do ano, já estamos pensando nos próximos dois anos, vamos chamar jogadores pontuais – comentou o dirigente.

Felipe Faro descartou contratações para o Campeonato Catarinense, até porquea janela se encerra nesta sexta-feira. O grupo para o estadual já está fechado, no entanto, outros jogadores devem chegar para disputar a Série B do Campeonato Brasileiro.

After then seeing some more players move around in January, Ange Postecoglou has been able to take his side six points clear at the top of the SPFL table with just a handful of games left to play.

With the next summer window on the horizon, it’ll be interesting to see how the Hoops follow up their previous transfer windows this time around.

One deal that should be at the top of the club’s priority list is to turn Jota’s loan deal into a permanent one.

Having signed from Portuguese club Benfica on a temporary basis until the end of the campaign, the winger has been a solid addition to Postecoglou’s squad.

With 36 appearances under his belt across all competitions, the attacker has scored 11 goals and provided 12 assists along the way.

To highlight how much of an attacking threat he has been on the pitch for the Hoops, Jota currently has the highest number of crosses made (203) in the SPFL than any of his teammates.

He also has the second-highest number of shots on target (25) behind Liel Abada (37).

In addition to his consistent attacking prowess, his overall performances have been rather eye-catching as he is currently listed as the highest-rated player in the Celtic squad with a rating of 7.59/10 from WhoScored.

Praised for his “outstanding” performances for the Bhoys by Postecoglou, it’s safe to say that the 56-year-old is a big fan of the winger and would be delighted to see him remain at the club beyond his current loan deal.

The Hoops reportedly have an optional purchase fee of £6.5m to keep Jota at the club, which was labelled as being a “mouth-watering prospect” for the Hoops by Noel Whelan.

With all of this in mind, it seems as though the 23-year-old has already done enough to warrant the club splashing out that money and keeping him where he is.

Moving forward, if the Bhoys can secure the league title in the coming weeks and then manage to secure Jota on a permanent deal, this would surely have plenty of Hoops fans bouncing.
