حرص نادي ليفربول على توديع لاعب الفريق ديفوك أوريجي بعد نهاية موسم الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز، 2021/22.

واستضاف ملعب الأنفيلد مباراة ليفربول وولفرهامبتون مساء اليوم، في الجولة الثامنة والثلاثين من الدوري الإنجليزي، حيث فاز ليفربول بثلاثة أهداف مقابل هدف.

ولم يشارك أوريجي في تلك المباراة بسبب الإصابة، رغم أنها كانت الأخيرة بالنسبة له بقميص ليفربول، حيث سينتهي عقده في يونيو المقبل، وبات قريبًا من الانتقال إلى صفوف ميلان.

وبعد المباراة، أقام لاعبو ليفربول ممرًا شرفيًا لـ أوريجي وسط تصفيق حار وهتافات من قِبل جماهير، إلى جانب تقديم حائط تذكاري يتضمن أبرز ما قدمه مع الريدز.

من جانبه، قال أوريجي في تصريحات عبر شبكة “سكاي سبورتس” العالمية: “أنا أحب ذلك، أن أرى كل المشجعين بعد كورونا، إنه شعور رائع، أمر خاص حقًا”.

وأضاف: “ليفربول نادٍ لا يُصدق، عندما توقع معه، تدرك فقط مدى ضخامة هذا النادي وتميز جماهيره، والليالي والأجواء، كان أمرًا مميزًا”.

وواصل: “كنت أعلم أن ليفربول نادًا خاصًا، لكن كان عليّ أن أختبر ذلك، الأمر يفوق الكلمات إنه شيء سيظل معي طوال حياتي، كان شرفًا وفخرًا بالنسبة لي، هذه مجموعة لا تصدق من اللاعبين”.

وأردف: “أحاول دائمًا أن أضع الفريق في المقام الأول، أحاول أن أقدم أفضل نسخة مني، أحاول مساعدة الفريق، أريد أن أكون على أرض الملعب كل دقيقة ولكن أكثر من ذلك أريد أن يفوز الفريق”.

واستكمل: “كنت هناك اليوم أحاول فقط دعم الفريق، يمكننا أن نكون فخورين للغاية، يمكننا أن نأخذ هذه التجربة ونأمل أن نحظى بليلة أخرى كبيرة الأسبوع المقبل”.

Tottenham Hotspur should look to turn their attention elsewhere after a frustrating update emerged this week.

According to football.london reporter Alasdair Gold, talks to sign Atalanta centre-back Cristian Romero have “slowed” down due to the Serie A outfit’s financial demands. Reports in Italy suggested that the Serie A outfit are demanding around €60m (£51m) for his signature, whilst La Liga giants Barcelona have been credited with an interest in recent weeks.

Spurs have not splashed out that sort of money since signing Tanguy Ndombele in the summer of 2019 for a club-record £55m, whilst their biggest fee spent on a defender was Davinson Sanchez for £42m.

His performances since then prove why it’s a massive gamble to spend so much on just one player, and as a result, the North Londoners may want to approach this Romero situation with caution.

For that money, the North Londoners could seal at least two players in the role, especially amid links to fellow Serie A monster Nikola Milenkovic.

As revealed by The Athletic’s Charlie Eccleshare, Spurs “hold an interest” in the Fiorentina star, and he claims that it would be an easy deal to do as the player would love to play in the Premier League and has less than a year remaining on his current contract.

The reliable journalist also hints that just €15m (£12.5m) would be enough to secure him. That’s a fraction of Romero’s price and he’s arguably just as good.

At just 23, Milenkovic has been likened to Nemanja Vidic, who is arguably one of the greatest to ever do it in the English top-flight.

“Milenkovic is better than Vidic with the ball at his feet, and he is much calmer on the field,” Mozzart journalist Dejan Stankovic told ESPN FC. “He is the most talented centre-back Serbia have had since Vidic, and they definitely have one thing in common – both are fearless.”

The 28-cap Serbian has also been dubbed a “beast”, and during the 2020/21 season, he averaged 3.6 clearances, three aerial duels won, 1.4 tackles and 1.3 interceptions in a worse team than Atalanta, who finished third overall.

By comparison, Romero – who won the Serie A’s ‘Defender of the Year’ award – was only way clear with his averages for tackles and interceptions, but again he played in the more solid team.

For just £12.5m, Spurs sporting director Fabio Paratici could secure a new defender for a bargain fee, especially with Transfermarkt currently valuing him at £22.5m.

The Lilywhites must consider Milenkovic as a bargain alternative to Romero should talks continue to slow down before next month’s deadline.

No dia após a eliminação do Grêmio no Campeonato Gaúcho, o volante Maicon foi o escolhido para conceder entrevista exclusiva. O meio-campista não escondeu a insatisfação por mais uma queda no Estadual e pediu que o time não sobreviva do título da Copa do Brasil de 2016.

– Ficamos chateados, era um objetivo ganhar o Gauchão e não conseguimos. Pedimos desculpas aos torcedores, mas temos o ano todo pela frente. Não podemos ficar vivendo da conquista da Copa do Brasil. كشفت تقارير صحفية أن نادي تشيلسي مقتنع بأنه سيحسم صفقة مدافع إشبيلية، جول كوندي، بنجاح في موسم الانتقالات الصيفي لهذا العام.

وكان تشيلسي يتطلع إلى الظفر بخدمات كوندي منذ الصيف الماضي، وقدم أكثر من عرض للتعاقد معه ولكن إدارة إشبيلية رفضتهم جميعًا.

ورغم ذلك، فإن النادي اللندني تمسك بفكرة نقل كوندي إلى ستامفورد بريدج من أجل تعزيز خط الدفاع.

وحسبما ذكرت صحيفة “ذا صن” الإنجليزية، نقلًا عن “ABC Sevilla” الإسبانية، فإن مسؤولي تشيلسي مقتنعون بأنهم يمكنهم التوصل إلى اتفاق مع نظرائهم في إشبيلية لحسم صفقة كوندي هذا الصيف.

Members of the Peruvian media were told that Rodrigo Vilca will leave Newcastle United on loan this season, according to Chronicle Live journalist Lee Ryder.

The lowdown

Newcastle paid £225,000 to sign Vilca from native outfit Deportivo Municipal last October.

He had played 29 senior games for the club, scoring four goals and providing three assists.

But Vilca, who can play as an attacking midfielder and operate on both wings, spent his first season with the Under-23s and is yet to make a full debut (via Transfermarkt).

He’s been described as an ‘ingenious’ player with ‘great vision’ (via Chronicle).

The latest

Journalists in South America were apparently briefed that Vilca would temporarily leave St James’ Park for valuable minutes, but any such move has ‘yet to unfold’.

Ryder reports that the player is ‘still some distance from where Newcastle want to be’, and for now they appear to be limiting expectations.

Nonetheless, they are confident he will make progress in the remaining years of his deal.

The verdict

It doesn’t look great for Vilca at this moment in time. He’s 22 years old, and at that point you’d have expected him to kick-on and at least challenge for some minutes off the bench for the first-team.

An initial season in the Under-23s may well have been the plan, but the fact that he couldn’t even make the matchday squad for cup competitions is a little concerning.

If he does wind up staying – a loan to the second or third tier might be the better option – then he’ll simply have to make more of an impression than at youth level. If he finds himself in the same spot next summer, this £225,000 experiment may be headed for failure.

In other news, Newcastle turned down the chance to sign a player who was bound for greatness.

The Senate Standing Committee on Sports in Pakistan has requested the intervention of president Pervez Musharraf and prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani in securing the release of fast bowler Mohammad Asif, who has been in detention in Dubai for suspected possession of an illegal substance since June 1.”Mohammad Asif is a superstar of Pakistan and we should not leave him alone over there [Dubai] and should not spare any effort to bring him back,” senator Zafar Iqbal Chaudhary said during the committee meeting on Wednesday. “We request the president and the premier to intervene in the matter and bring back the superstar.”Asif represents Pakistan and the [cricket] board should also talk to the president of Pakistan, who is the patron of the board, to do something in this regard.”Nasim Ashraf, the Pakistan board chairman, replying to a question from senator Enver Baig said that they hadn’t received any information about Asif from Dubai. “We have hired a legal firm which is working on the case,” Ashraf said. “However, it hasn’t yet been established exactly what substance was he carrying with him.”Baig, an outspoken PCB critic who has previously criticised the PCB’s efforts to help Asif, said that “an exemplary punishment be given to Asif” and suggested that he be banned for life if found guilty.It is likely that the PCB will take action against Asif should he return, but even if they don’t, the ICC might.
