A versão 2017 do Flamengo saiu de campo derrotada no primeiro teste da temporada. Nesta tarde deste sábado, em seu 11º dia de pré-temporada, a equipe carioca fez um amistoso contra o Vila Nova e foi vítima do atacante Wallyson. Com dois golaços, o jogador foi o nome da vitória goiana por 2 a 1. Leandro Damião, no segundo tempo, foi o autor do gol carioca. A partida foi jogada no estádio Serra Dourada, que ficou bonito com a boa presença das duas torcidas disputando os cantos nas arquibancadas.

O técnico Zé Ricardo escalou o Flamengo em um 4-4-2 com Diego e Mancuello formando o meio-campo ofensivo. Com mais movimentação e controle de bola, o Rubro-Negro alugou a faixa central e concentrou suas ações no lado esquerdo, mas esbarrou em uma atuação tímida do seu camisa 35. No lado oposto, o argentino atuou mais avançado e até começou chamando atenção, distribuindo bons lançamentos, mas caiu de produção e não conseguiu ajudar quando seus companheiros estavam sem a bola.

A estratégia das duas equipes permitia que o Flamengo permanecesse mais tempo com a bola, enquanto o Vila procurava ocupar bem os espaços e desorganizar o adversário no contra-golpe. Mesmo com poucas oportunidades, o time da casa soube se defender bem e aguardar o momento certo para dar o tiro certeiro. E ele veio com Wallyson, extremamente feliz no chute de fora da área que foi de encontro ao ângulo de Muralha, abrindo o marcador. Pouco depois, a vantagem só não foi ampliada porque a finalização do mesmo atacante parou no pé da trave.

No segundo tempo, os principais jogadores do Flamengo deram lugar aos suplentes e o time voltou totalmente mudado. No lado esquerdo, Trauco chamou atenção pela qualidade na batida de bola. No setor ofensivo, Gabriel foi o principal responsável pela organização, que contou também com Adryan e Cirino aberto nas pontas e à procura de Damião dentro da área. E foi mais ou menos nessa toada que o time empatou o jogo, com Damião tocando na saída do goleiro, após ótima visão e enfiada de bola de Adryan.

O Flamengo só não contava com a noite inspirada de Wallyson. Novamente ele e outra vez em um golaço, o atacante tratou de recolocar o Vila em vantagem e garantir a vitória. Mateus Anderson, há 15 minutos em campo, fez uma linda jogada na lateral direita e cruzou para seu companheiro pegar na veia, estufar as redes e fechar a conta: 2 a 1 placar final.

Former Leeds midfielder David Norris believes that signing another striker this summer would increase the pressure on Rodrigo.

Rodrigo made the big-money switch from Valencia 12 months ago, but only scored seven Premier League, four of which came in Leeds’ final four matches, and didn’t come close to dislodging Patrick Bamford from the side.

But strong reports from The Telegraph believe that Marcelo Bielsa could be set to add to his strike department this season by bringing in Michy Batshuayi to compete for a starting place with Bamford.

The Belgian striker is still a Chelsea player, but doesn’t appear likely to be in Thomas Tuchel’s long-term plans, meaning he could be allowed to move away from Stamford Bridge.

Batshuayi spent last term on loan at Crystal Palace, although he scored just twice, and only has 17 goals to his name across the previous three years combined.

However, a move to Elland Road and reunion with Bielsa would offer the striker a fresh start, but it would also crank up the pressure on Rodrigo following his mixed first season in English football.

Norris exclusively told the The Transfer Tavern:

“If you’re a player and you are playing and they bring in someone else, your first thought would be ‘are they going to replace me?’

“But if you’re doing well, and the manager trusts you, especially someone like Bielsa, then you will get your minutes, but it will put pressure on you.”

Zaheer Khan took his innings tally to four, while Ajit Bhoite followed up a good batting performance with two wickets. For Punjab, Dinesh Mongia and Vikram Rathour, the overnight batsmen were the only ones to contribute significantly with the bat.Putting on 124 runs for the fifth wicket, both batsmen got to their fifty. Mongia scored 62 before being caught behind, while Rathour was run out by Bhoite for 55. The two fell in quick succession, and Baroda, brushing aside some resistance from the tail, bowled their rivals out in 69 overs.But their second-innings batting left much to be desired. The Lowdown: Son new deal?

Tottenham have been touted with offering a new deal to Son for quite some time, with reports emerging as far back as October last year.

At one point, it looked a certainty that the South Korea star would put pen to paper on an extension in north London, but financial worries caused by coronavirus delayed the process (Evening Standard).

Links then emerged to a possible move away for Son amid the contract saga, with European powerhouses Bayern Munich even said to be eyeing a move at one point.

Now, writing on Twitter, reliable journalist Romano has made an exciting claim involving the 28-year-old.

Indeed, he believes that Son is ‘expected to sign soon’ and he is now ‘staying at Tottenham’ despite all the unrest surrounding superstar Harry Kane.

“Heung-min Son is expected to sign soon his new contract with Tottenham, negotiations going on since December and now all parties confident to complete the agreement,” Romano explained on social media.

“Son is staying at Tottenham, higher salary and new long-term agreement.”

The Verdict: Big boost for Spurs…

The threat of losing another star name alongside all the Kane links would have come as a worrying one for supporters, so this Romano claim comes as a big boost for Spurs.

Bar the Englishman, Son was arguably Tottenham’s player of the season over 2020/2021 – racking up 17 goals and 10 assists in 36 Premier League starts (WhoScored).

Tottenham keeping hold of Son will prove vital to their eventual new manager and any hopes of clinching silverware or qualifying for the Champions League next season.

It could also help convince other players to join the Lilywhites – a mass exodus of both superstars in Kane and Son would have potential transfer targets scratching their heads about the club’s future ambitions.

Cada vez mais o goleiro Thiago vem ganhando espaço no elenco do Flamengo. Com a saída de Paulo Victor para o futebol da Turquia, o jovem agora é o segundo goleiro do rubro-negro e é o reserva imediato de Alex Muralha para a temporada. O titular da posição elogiou Thiago e destacou alguns de seus pontos fortes.

– Ele é um goleiro muito seguro, rápido e explosivo. Tem todas as qualidades para fazer parte do Flamengo. Sabe da responsabilidade de estar vestindo essa camisa. Trabalhamos muito todos os dias, conversamos bastante. Um ajudando ao outro sempre, puxando cada vez mais os treinos. É assim não só com o Thiago, mas com todos os outros que subiram da base. A cada dia, eles evoluem mais. Isso faz com que prevaleça nosso trabalho e nossa amizade.

Muralha também falou sobre o seu relacionamento com os outros jovens goleiros do elenco do Flamengo. Segundo o camisa 38, união é o segredo para grandes conquistas em 2017.

– Eles me ajudam mais do que eu ajudo eles. Claro que sei da responsabilidade de ser um pouco mais velho. Eles estão no Flamengo, não devem ser considerados mais meninos, são profissionais. A gente conversa bastante e sabem que é importante estarem unidos para conquistar vitórias.
