Having missed out on promotion to the Premier League earlier this month via a gut-wrenching defeat in the play-offs, Leeds United will now be starting their preparations for yet another year in the second tier of English football.

With Ipswich Town suffering relegation to League One, the Whites are now the longest-serving side in the Championship having played at that level for the previous 15 seasons, a record of which they will want to break in the 2019/20 campaign.

However, if they are to secure a long-awaited return to the top-flight, it is imperative that Marcelo Bielsa is given the financial backing required to allow him to bolster his squad.

Although there is no doubting the fact that Leeds already have a strong core of players at their disposal, they could take their attacking options to new heights by bringing in one of the most exciting talents in Britain this summer.

According to The Sun (as quoted by HITC), the Whites are reportedly interested in signing Liverpool winger Harry Wilson having witnessed first-hand just how destructive he can be in-front of goal.

Currently on loan at Derby, the Wales international played a major role in eliminating the Whites from the play-offs as not only did he score in his side’s 4-2 victory at Elland Road but he also provided an assist for Mason Mount.

An incredible prospect, Wilson has been crucial for the Rams this season as his 20 goal contributions have almost single-handedly dragged them to within a game of promotion to the Premier League.

If Leeds can secure the services of the winger when the transfer window opens in July, it would be somewhat of a coup as it is clear that he has all the ingredients needed to become a fantastic player in the future.

Yet with the Daily Mail reporting that Liverpool value Wilson at £25m, the Whites may have to focus on a loan deal rather than a permanent switch.

بالإضافة إلى بيب جوارديولا، مدرب مانشستر سيتي، الذي غاب عن الخماسي الأفضل، بعدما فشل في تحقيق الدوري الإنجليزي أو دوري أبطال أوروبا مع الفريق السماوي.

الألماني يورجن كلوب مدرب ليفربول والذي حقق الجائزة في الموسم الماضي، فاز بالدوري الإنجليزي مع الريدز بعد غياب 30 عامًا، وقبل انتهاء المنافسة بـ 7 جولات، برصيد 99 نقطة، بفارق 18 نقطة عن المركز الثاني مانشستر سيتي.

الألماني الآخر، هانزي فليك، فاز مع بايرن ميونخ بالثلاثية المحلية، الدوري الألماني وكأس ألمانيا، ودوري أبطال أوروبا، رغم أنه كان مدرب طوارئ بعد رحيل نيكو كوفاتش أثناء الموسم، وحقق جائزة أفضل مدرب في أوروبا سبتمبر الماضي.

الأرجنتيني مارسيلو بيلسا، فاز بدوري الدرجة الأولى الإنجليزي “شامبيونشيب” مع فريق ليدز يونايتد، وقاد الفريق للصعود إلى الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز لأول مرة من 2004.

الفرنسي زين الدين زيدان، فاز بالدوري الإسباني مع ريال مدريد، بالإضافة للسوبر الإسباني بعدما حقق اللقب أمام أتلتيكو مدريد في النهائي.

أخيرًا، الإسباني، جوليان لوبيتيجي، مدرب إشبيلية الذي قاد أسود الأندلس للفوز بالدوري الأوروبي على حساب إنتر ميلان في النهائي، بثلاثة أهداف مقابل هدفين، وتأهل إلى دوري أبطال أوروبا.

There are not many young starlets who would fit Jurgen Klopp’s desired profile, as well as Villarreal’s Samuel Chukwueze, does. Indeed, Liverpool are reportedly looking to add to their stockpile of talents this summer and reports from Goal suggest the Yellow Submarine may have exactly what the Reds seek: lightning quick, versatile youngster, eager to make it on the big stage. 

Looking at the pure attacking talent pool of Liverpool, one could easily conclude that new forwards are not needed at all. Granted, if Klopp wants an immediate improvement on his trident up front, he’s going to have a really hard time finding it in the current market. The only real step ups from the Mane-Salah-Firmino strikeforce are either a certain Argentinian who bleeds red and blue or that Portuguese lad hoping to kickstart his career in Italy.

Even they would probably struggle to cope with Klopp’s heavy metal regiment at the Merseyside since, even though they are a class above everyone else, they are slowly getting on with their careers. Samuel Chukwueze, however, isn’t. On the contrary, with only 19 years on his back, he is literally at the start and already tearing La Liga apart piece by piece. And this is no exaggeration either; Chukwueze made his way from his nation’s youth programs into Villarreal’s first team in a matter of a year, scoring five goals and assisting two since November and in a total of 26 appearances, in 13 of which he was a starter.

Liverpool’s attack is all about intensity, pace and gallons of energy. And this Nigerian gem has got it all: he can play on both wings, has a keen eye for setting up and finish a goal and his pace means he glides through defenders like they’re not even there to begin with. It’s difficult to see Villarreal just letting the kid go but if there was a good offer put on their plates, they just might buckle under pressure.

At the start of his professional footballing career, Chukwueze was worth about £500k but now Transfermarkt estimates his value at £9.00m. Quite a jump in just a bit more than a year’s time. Liverpool were already inquiring about his countryman, Moses Simon last summer and then shifted their focus on Ryan Sessegnon but seeing how both could be off the table, they could turn to other options and Chukwueze would soon make them forget they ever asked about them in the first place.

Harry Wilson is reportedly attracting a lot of interest and could be set for a move away from the club, so a look to La Liga could be an excellent way to replace him.

Funding the transfer should not be a problem for the Reds but sacrificing a pawn or two for a potential superstar would be well worth it. After all, Klopp always knew how to pick them and groom them properly. And if he doesn’t, someone else will, that’s a given.

وكان أشرف صبحي وزير الرياضة قد أعلن عن عدم إقامة السوبر الإفريقي على أرضية استاد القاهرة بسبب إجراء بعض عمليات الصيانة.

وقال سيد عبد الحفيظ في تصريحات إذاعية عبر آثير “أون سبورت إف إم”: “الأهلي لم يٌهزم أمام الزمالك في أي مباراة بدوري أبطال إفريقيا، وهذا أمر جعلني أتفاءل بجانب كون المباراة كانت التاسعة بينهما في المسابقة القارية”.

وأكمل: “سنعقد جلسة اليوم مع موسيماني والخطيب رئيس النادي للاستقرار على قائمة الفريق للموسم الجديد”.

وتابع: “اليوم وغدًا سنحسم موقف اللاعبين المستمرين والراحلين وسنجهز قائمة الفريق والموسم الجديد سيكون عنيفا جدًا”.

وأردف: “خلال ساعات سيتم قيد بدر بانون، وبالتالي يحق له المشاركة في مباراة كأس مصر أمام الاتحاد السكندري بجانب اللاعبون العائدون من الإعارة، واليوم سيخضع اللاعبون لمسحة دون إقامة أي تدريبات”.

الأهلي يستعد لمواجهة الاتحاد السكندري مساء الثلاثاء المقبل في نصف نهائي بطولة كأس مصر.

وردًا على وجود مفاوضات مع سيرينو لاعب صن داونز؟، أوضح: “المفاوضات ليست في يدي وهناك أمير توفيق مدير التعاقدات ومن الممكن تأجيلها وألا تكتمل في الوقت الحالي”.

يذكر، أن الأهلي توج بلقب دوري أبطال إفريقيا للمرة التاسعة في تاريخه، بعد فوزه على الزمالك بهدفين مقابل هدف، في المباراة التي جمعت بينهما الجمعة على استاد القاهرة.

Manchester United fans on Twitter have lamented the club’s inability to complete the signing of Lucas Moura after the attacker confirmed that he had an offer to join the Red Devils last January.

The 26-year old wrote himself into eternal Spurs folklore when his stunning hat-trick against Ajax fired the London club into their first ever Champions League final.

However, the Brazilian was nearly a United player, but talks broke down after the Red Devils only offered to take Lucas on a loan deal, according to The Guardian.

Instead, he signed with Spurs and has gone on to score ten goals in 32 Premier League appearances including a brace against Jose Mourinho’s United side in August.

This is not the first time that United have been unable to get a deal for Lucas over the line after seeing a €35m (£30.90m) bid rejected in the summer of 2012 before the Sao Paolo native moved to PSG in January 2013.

After watching the speedy forward light up the Champions League in the most decisive of fashions, United fans are unhappy that the club couldn’t finalise a deal for the 35-time Brazil international – with some pointing the finger at the much-maligned Ed Woodward.

Ryan Sessegnon has set his heart on a move to Tottenham Hotspur, per The Guardian, much to the delight of supporters.

The Fulham youngster can play as a full-back or a winger and has reportedly informed the club that he does not intend to sign a new contract, with his current deal set to expire next summer.

He is said to be desperate to play under Mauricio Pochettino in north London, as he believes his talent would bloom under the Argentine’s tutelage.

It remains to be seen whether a fee can be agreed; Fulham are reported to want £45m for the 19-year-old but Spurs are keen to pay around £25m.

His declaration of intent, however, may force Fulham’s hand as they run the risk of losing a player who emerged from their relegation season with credit for nothing at the conclusion of the 2019/20 campaign.

And Spurs fans are thrilled at the prospect of securing one of the highest-rated young players in the country in this transfer window, with one even claiming he is a more important acquisition that Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombele, who has long been linked with the club.

Loads of Manchester United fans have been reacting to a huge story from ESPN, who claim Jan Oblak wants to join the Red Devils.

According to ESPN, the man who many deem to be the only goalkeeper on the planet better than David De Gea wants to leave Atletico Madrid.

Oblak has been in Madrid since 2014, keeping 138 clean sheets in 208 games in all competitions.

According to the report, the 26 year-old is frustrated by broken promises over his future and is a boyhood United fan, so favours a move to Old Trafford over one to PSG, who are also in need of a goalkeeper after Gianluigi Buffon’s departure.

Of course, all of this depends on the future of De Gea, who has one year remaining on his contract in Manchester.
