West Ham fans slam Mark Noble

West Ham United fans have slammed Mark Noble for the way he performed against Arsenal.

The 32-year-old was replaced by January signing Tomas Soucek, with the Hammers 1-0 down following Alexandre Lacazette’s opening goal, but while he was still on the pitch, he didn’t do enough to convince.

Did he really play for us?! No West Ham fan has managed to name all of these obscure Irons signings….

The Hammers were downed 1-0 by the Gunners as VAR came to the home side’s rescue to allow a strike that had initially been ruled out for offside.

The Irons are still right in the thick of a relegation battle but it appears as though they may struggle to get out of that situation if the veteran continues to play in the middle of the park – drawing rich criticism.

Noble had 33 touches throughout the game in central midfield but struggled to properly impact the game.

Per WhoScored, he did not complete a dribble, nor did he win a tackle, while he took four corners with a 25% accuracy. Consequently, one fan said he was the worst on the entire pitch.

One fan thought that January arrival Soucek had to start ahead of him. The Czech had been out with an injury but one would assume he’ll be fit in time for West Ham’s next outing.

Noble remains an integral member of West Ham’s squad, making 26 appearances in the Premier League thus far this season.

In that time, he has scored four goals and registered one assist, though he has not been involved in a goal since the January defeat to Leicester City.

Meanwhile, West Ham have to sell this man!

Liverpool fans react as Harvey Elliott set to sign new deal

Loads of Liverpool fans have been reacting to a Twitter update from reliable Times journalist Paul Joyce, who says Reds youngster Harvey Elliott will pen a new three-year contract this summer.

The Merseyside outfit signed the teenager from Fulham last summer, but he isn’t able to get a professional contract for Jurgen Klopp’s men until he turns 17.

That happens in April, but Joyce says that the club is waiting until the end of the season so he is then tied down to them until the summer of 2023.

Despite his tender years, he has certainly made something of an impact on the first team already, making seven appearances in all competitions, including a Premier League debut for Liverpool as a late substitute in their clash against Sheffield United at the beginning of this month.

Call yourself a Liverpool expert? How much did each of these big-money January signings cost?

The youngster is still yet to get off the mark in terms of goals and assists, but it looks to only be a matter of time before he gets even more involvement with the senior squad given what he has shown to date.

It’s fair to say that a number of Reds supporters were delighted with the update when replying to Joyce’s tweet, with one describing it as “fantastic news” and another saying “get in”.

Other supporters went a little bit further and looked ahead to what it could mean for Liverpool moving forward, with one individual describing him as “our future”.

Another suggested that both he and another young player in Curtis Jones “will be brilliant for us”, and as mentioned previously from their cameos to date hopes should be high for the teenagers.

Jones, of course, has already scored against both Everton and Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup this term.

Finally, other fans questioned the length of the contract extension, with more than one suggesting it should be longer than three years.

It probably is a little surprising that they haven’t given him a four or five-year deal, but perhaps they want to see more of him in the first team before committing to that. It would make sense, too.

In other Liverpool news, Reds fans on Twitter have been discussing one £45m-rated Champions League ace who is “better than Ox and Keita”…

Liverpool fans unleash on Adrian

Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to unleash their frustration on Adrian.

The Spanish goalkeeper had very little to do against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last 16, making just three saves in total as he watched his outfield teammates rack up 34 shots against Diego Simeone’s side.

However, the former West Ham glovesman let Liverpool down just seconds after Roberto Firmino had put them ahead in extra-time.

Adrian lethargically played the ball out to Joao Felix, who rolled a through ball into the feet of Marcos Llorente who curled past the Liverpool backup keeper – to be honest, the 33-year-old could also have done better with the strike, as it was fairly close to him.

That moment then set the tone for Simeone’s men to go on and grab two more goals thanks to Llorente – again – and former Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata, who helped the Spanish side into the quarter-finals.

It isn’t the first mistake Adrian has made for the Reds since arriving on a free transfer back in the summer.

He smashed the ball at Danny Ings when conceding against Southampton at the start of the season, and was also caught napping when Lewis Dunk rolled a freekick past him at Anfield for Brighton – he, quite simply, has been nowhere near up to the standard of playing backup to Alisson Becker.

Let’s see what the Liverpool fans on Twitter have been saying about him…

To kick off the reaction, these three supporters all implied that they’d like to see the ex-West Ham man depart Anfield in the summer following his mistake against Atletico Madrid.

In fairness to Adrian, he probably didn’t expect to get as much game time as he has done this season after replacing the departed Simon Mignolet as Liverpool’s No.2, especially in monumental games such as the UEFA Super Cup and the Champions League quarter-final.

In total, he has made 17 appearances in all competitions this term.

Elsewhere, another fan said they feel sorry for the outfield players who gave their all.

This is a valid point – if we were one of Firmino, Jordan Henderson or Gini Wijnaldum, we would feel extremely let down by the Spaniard’s actions.

Call yourself a Liverpool expert? How much did each of these big-money January signings cost?

Liverpool’s outfield players mustered up a huge 34 shots against Atletico Madrid, and even if they could be accused of being wasteful with their finishing, Adrian didn’t have much to do and still managed to mess up.

Wolves’ Diogo Jota had a dismal display overall

Before the game, Nuno Espirito Santo may well have taken a 1-1 draw away from home in the first leg of his side’s Europa League clash against Olympiacos.

After all, it would mean his side had gotten the all-important away goal, and could head back to Molineux with the advantage. But after the way in which the game panned out, the Portuguese man would surely have been left bitterly disappointed by the result.

Having seen Olympiacos centre-back Ruben Semedo receive a red card for a professional foul after just 28 minutes of the game, Wolves had the perfect opportunity to really establish a decent first-leg lead to take back home.

Instead, they had to settle for just 1-1. And whilst he may have been the man to cause Semedo’s sending off when he was brought down, Diogo Jota had a dismal game overall for Wolves.

As per Sofascore, the Portuguese ace’s 6.2 match rating was the second-worst of any player on the pitch – in fact, only Semedo received lower. And when you look at the underlying numbers behind his performance, it’s easy to see why.

Games away from home desperately need players to step up and be counted. Winning the 50/50s and the physical battles can go a long way to ensuring your side can silence the home crowd, and also get yourself a footing in the game. Instead, Jota struggled badly with trying to impose himself, losing 13 of his 17 total duels – he won just two out of 12 that were contested on the ground.

Where is he from?! Can you name which obscure countries these famous players have represented?

He also failed to complete any of the four dribbles that he attempted, had no shots on target, made just 19 accurate passes, and lost possession 15 times – the last stat being the second-worst of any Wolves player (only Adama Traore conceded the ball more times).

It was the kind of spineless display that let Nuno down badly. Here was a great opportunity for Jota to really take the game by the scruff of the neck after doing well to help earn Wolves their one-man advantage. But in the end, he struggled to really make it count.

Meanwhile, Wolves’ swoop for this Real Madrid star would be a masterclass.

Liverpool snubbed by in-demand teenager Bellingham

Jude Bellingham has snubbed a move to Liverpool this summer, per The Daily Star.

What’s the word?

The Birmingham City ace is in demand, with a number of clubs said to be interested in bringing him in this summer.

Indeed, both Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund are claimed to be leading the race, despite interest from the Reds, Arsenal, and Manchester City.

The Star claims that the 16-year-old, valued at £30m, has narrowed his choices down to either United or Dortmund, seemingly snubbing the prospect of a move to Anfield.

He has made a major breakthrough at Birmingham this season, making 35 appearances in all competitions and scoring four goals, while registering three assists.

No clues: Can you name the season these iconic Liverpool images belong to?

No pathway

This could well be a consequence of Liverpool’s limited first-team pathway.

They have so many midfielders that would be ahead of Bellingham, that it is perhaps understandable that the teenager is not keen on a move to Merseyside.

They have Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Georginio Wijnaldum, James Milner, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Adam Lallana who can all play in central midfield.

That is seven players who could well be in Bellingham’s path.

And it’s a similar case in other positions. Can any young player reasonably expect to take much game-time from the likes of Andrew Robertson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk or any of Liverpool’s famed front three?

Throw in the fact there are already so many talented young players on the books at Liverpool – like Merseyside Derby goalscorer Curtis Jones and 16-year-old wonderkid Harvey Elliott – that even Harry Wilson had to settle for a Premier League loan after scoring 16 times last season, and it’s clear why a prospect like Bellingham might have his doubts over an Anfield move.

It is completely understandable that he is instead looking at other options but, wherever he ends up, this will likely be a ‘what could have been’ question for the Reds in five years’ time.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are looking at the wrong signing this summer!

Diogo Dalot mocks Bruno Fernandes

As we’re all shut in at home for the next few weeks, now is probably the perfect time to try out a new look, whether that’s growing a bit more facial hair, giving yourself a buzz-cut or getting the dye out for something really trippy. And it seems that Bruno Fernandes has taken that opportunity, having grown himself a goatee.

But the Portugal international’s new look certainly hasn’t won over everybody. After an image was shared by @Utdreport on Twitter, team-mate Diogo Dalot had his say, replying with a series of crying-with-laughter emojis and declaring that Bruno looks like he could be a character in popular Netflix series Narcos.

The 25-year-old has enjoyed a fine start to his Old Trafford career, producing three goals and four assists in nine games since arriving from Sporting Lisbon during the January transfer window.

Dalot, meanwhile, is still very much finding his feet at United, managing only ten outings so far this season.

Leeds fans react to Ben White transfer latest

Leeds United fans have been left astonished by the latest transfer news surrounding loan star Ben White as one top-flight team is starting to dampen their interest in him.

According to Football Insider, Liverpool are blown away by the 22-year-old but have one major doubt over his aerial ability with him standing at just 6 foot tall.

Although this hasn’t been a problem for Marcelo Bielsa this campaign, seeing as he’s started the Brighton ace in every single game, it could be an issue for Jurgen Klopp as he doesn’t possess a central defender under 6 foot 2.

White has become a fan-favourite at Elland Road but is due back on the south coast at the end of the season where he’ll be under the Seagulls’ control – whether that means he remains at Brighton or leaves on a transfer still remains to be seen.

The Englishman has won 2.8 aerial duels a game on average and is also recording three clearances, 2.3 interceptions and 1.7 tackles per match, via WhoScored.

Which is why some supporters in west Yorkshire are sarcastically agreeing with Liverpool’s claim in the hope that Bielsa and co can swoop in and land him permanently in the summer.

Rangers: Fans react to Steven Gerrard’s best XI

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard played during a period full of absolute legends of the game.

In fact, he played with some of them at Liverpool as he lined up alongside the likes of Fernando Torres and Xabi Alonso, whilst he also faced the likes of Paulo Maldini, Alessandro del Piero and Kaka as well.

Picking an XI of players who have played during his lifetime would be tough, but he has given it a go after being asked to do so by Sky Sports. Not only that, he couldn’t name two players from the same country, whilst no two players can have played for the same club. Talk about difficult.

In the end, his XI consisted of: Jan Oblak, Cafu, Vincent Kompany, Kalidou Koulibaly, Andrew Robertson, Toni Kroos, Roy Keane, Kylian Mbappe, Alessandro del Piero, Lionel Messi and Didier Drogba.

The Gers’ official Twitter account decided to share the side, and it has led to plenty of responses from the club’s supporters. They have taken to the social media platform to share their thoughts, any you can see some of the best comments below.

According to Le 10 Sport, the Magpies are chasing Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek with the takeover opening up such a possibility. Everton and Real Madrid are also said to hold interest in the Dutchman.

And plenty at St James’ Park would love to see van de Beek arrive as one of the first signings of the new era.

The 23-year-old has been an integral part of Ajax’s fortunes this term, scoring ten times whilst also providing 11 assists in 37 appearances, which includes a strike against Chelsea in the Champions League, via Transfermarkt.

He was one member of last season’s impressive semi-final making squad, so that highlights the calibre of player that the northeast outfit are being linked to.

Mundo Deportivo claim van de Beek could be available for €50m (£44m) and also list Juventus and Manchester United as potential suitors.
